Annual Giving

November 2015

Dear Classmate,

To quote our esteemed former Dean of Admissions, Fred Hargadon . . . "YES".

After pursuing and drawing close to our constant goal of having 67% of our classmates contribute to Annual Giving, we finally exceeded that mark. Thanks to the 455 members of 1967 who donated in last year's campaign, we achieved 67.2% class participation. Additionally, our class raised $490,267 in unrestricted funds for Princeton, the most ever for 1967 in a non-major reunion year and the third highest for any Princeton class in a 48th Reunion year. Overall, Princeton raised $61.5 million with 60.3% participation.

While it is tempting for all the members of the Great Class of 1967 to take a moment and self-congratulate, the reality is that our support for Princeton is just beginning. We are now in the 2015-16 Annual Giving campaign, in honor of our 49th Reunion, with the 50th just one year distant. Most of the recent classes celebrating their 50th have flirted with or achieved 80% participation rates in AG. We need an additional 87 classmates to join the donor ranks to hit 80%. So, I am asking you to start that process by contributing to this year's campaign and then continuing that generosity for the 50th.

Our gifts underscore a commitment as '67 alumni toward strengthening Princeton's excellence. Our suport for the university through AG enables the guarantee of financial aid to every admitted student in need, the hiring of world-renowned, Nobel laureate faculty who are dedicated to teaching and the sustenance of all the myriad programs essential and distinctive to the Princeton experience.

So please show your pride in being a member of 1967 and affection for Princeton University by making your gift to AG. You can use the enclosed envelope [addressed to Princeton University, Annual Giving, PO Box 5357, Princeton NY 08543], visit the secure website at www.princeton.edu/ag or call the telephone gift line at 800-258-5421. On behalf of the entire Princeton community that benefits, we thank you sincerely.

Finally, please start thinking about coming back for our 50th in June 2017. Go Tigers and Go '67 -- As We Clear the Track to Our 50th.

Sincerely,

Dick Fiss
